Donations

Whether you donate your time, talent, or treasure, you'll have great impact on young people in Scouting.

Our camps are always open to, not only financial support through our Friends of Scouting campaign, your time and talent as a volunteer; but even more importantly, your tangible personal property (e.g. camp supplies, program supplies, boats, cars, trucks, etc.) When you or your family no longer have a need for said tangible property, contact the Scout office and ask to speak to a camp director about a potential donation of goods. We would be happy to speak with you to discuss the possibility of taking said items off your hands, out of your yard or garage.

During your conversation with the camp director, it may be determined your equipment or memorabilia should be donated to our Scouting Museum versus to a camp or camping. This should be determined prior to you bringing any items to the Scout office or arrangement of pick up or delivery.

Deed of Gift to Northern Star Council

Northern Star Council does ask that you pre-determine the value of any items you wish to donate. You will be asked to complete a Deed of Gift form should council accept your donated items. Your item(s) may or may not qualify as a tax deductible donation in accordance with Federal income tax law. Council employees cannot give appraisals for the purpose of determination of value of said items being donated.

It's hard to say no thank you to a donation, however, we may need to refuse some items that may have a personal value to you but we may not be able to put to good use.
