Program Highlights
Over the course of this weekend program learn how to stay warm and cozy while sleeping outdoors in winter. Travel to a remote campsite to build your snow shelter, cook outdoors, and participate in winter activities before crawling into a 40 below rated mummy bag for bed.
Possible activities: Winter Shelter Building, Ice Climbing, Kite Flying, Geocaching, Cross Country Skiing, Tubing, Snow Shoeing, Broomball, Team Building Games, Orienteering, Winter Cooking
REGISTRATION
Opens on October 1st at noon. Click on the link above. You will need to know the number of youth and adults in your group. There is a $25 deposit per person to hold your spot. Full payment is due December 1st for January sessions and January 1st for February sessions.

This program is offered at Stearns Scout Camp near Annadale, MN
Grade Level
Recommended for 7th grade and above.

$74/Participant.
Sleeping Arrangements
No overnight component on Friday night in 2021. All spearhead participants will sleep outside on Saturday night. We will use trench style snow shelters and limiting capacity inside parachutes. Quinzhee can be shared by members of the same household.

9:15 am Pick up pre-ordered winter clothing
9:30 am Change into winter gear. Cold weather clothing inspection and instruction.
9:45 am Review gear sled
10:00 am Hike to campsite
10:30 am Start Shelters/set up camp
12:30 pm Lunch in the crew site
1:00 pm Afternoon activities
5:00 pm Dinner preparation
6:00 pm Evening meal and campfire
8:00 pm Evening star gazing/trek
9:00 pm Lanterns out, all quiet
Sunday
7:45 am Breakfast
8:45 am Break camp, leave for base
9:30 am Morning Activity
11:00 am Arrive at Base Camp/Enjoy a base burger outside!
11:30 am Turn in equipment
1:00 Checkout and depart for home. Pick up snack bag for the ride home.
