The Arboretum at Gustavus College provides an enriching environment and outdoor education.  Located 16 minutes or 11 miles away, the arboretum is a beautiful place to explore.

Surrounding Norseland are multiple great rivers and creeks for canoeing. Not sure where to start? Bent River Outfitter in Mankato can help you plan a trip.

Norseland Scout Camp is close to some great cycling trails.  the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail or Red Jacket Trail are two that are used by local troops for the cycling merit badge.  Both have starting points in Mankato, 30 minutes away.

Seven Mile Creek Park is a large park located 22 minutes away and has ten miles of trails that traverse the hills and bluffs along Seven Mile Creek.  Brown Trout are stocked annually in the creek and other fishing is available in the Minnesota River. It's a great place for a pre-Philmont or other backpacking trek and to work on your fishing or hiking merit badges.

Norseland Scout Camp has a fantastic sledding hill, but if you desire something more like downhill skiing, snowboarding or tubing then checkout Mount Kato.
