Classic Scout Tents are available for check-out at no additional charge. These tents are fully bug proof and waterproof. Each tent can sleep 2-4 people.

There is plenty of space in each campsite for campers to set-up their own tents.
Indoor Restrooms and Showers
Tonkawa Lodge serves as the main shower and restroom facility for the entire camp. A single indoor restroom is also available in the nature building.
Latrines and porta pots are located throughout camp - you won't be able to go far without seeing one! They are in all program areas that don't have restroom access and in the campsite areas. Lattrines are stocked with toillet paper and a hand washing station
All of your meals will be served cafeteria style in the dining hall.
Here is a snapshot of what you can expect on the first night of camp! There will not be a meal served on the first night, so please eat before coming to camp. Note-Stearns does not hold swim checks on Thursday night, instead you will complete your swim checks Friday morning.
6:00 pm - Thursday
- Gates open - you will not be able to check-in prior to this time
- You will be directed to the main parking area. A staff member will greet you and direct you to check-in at the dining hall.
- Bring your health form and shooting sports waiver to check-in.
- After checking in you will be directed to your campsite. A staff member will be available to help you check out a tent and get set up.
- Your campsite commisioner will meet you in your campsite to talk about emergency procedures and take you on a tour of camp.
- Lights Out! Get some rest before your first full day at camp!
Packs are divided into groups for Activity Blocks on Friday and Saturday. Packs will receive their group assignment at Friday morning flag ceremony. These programs focus on developing new skills, earning rank advancement, and having fun.
There are two time slots in the Stearns schedule where Scouts will be able to sign up to earn adventures. All the requirements will be covered unless otherwise noted.
Scouts have the opportunity to stay at camp an extra night and participate in Webelos Outpost! This program is designed to be an introduction to the type of camping you will do at Scouts BSA camp. Scouts will canoe to a campsite at the other end of camp, set up their own tents, cook dinner over a fire, and participate in special activities

What time will outpost be done?
You will return to your cars at the main part of camp by 11am on Monday - lunch is not provided Monday afternoon.
How do I register?
When you complete the online registration for Cub Scout Summer Camp there will be a drop down option for "Scout attending Outpost" and "Adult attending Outpost. Select these options to be added to the program. It's as easy as that! Make sure to register for Outpost right away because space is limited. If the Outpost session is full, please still register for the weekend and you will be added to a waitlist.
