This Saturday and Sunday morning program is a Staff guided Ice
Fishing experience. Scouts have the opportunity to earn the
fishing merit badge as well as learning from MN's experienced ice
fishermen. Scouts will be outfitted with the latest fishing gear used
by the pros, as well as North Wind gear to stay warm outside.
Possible activities: Learn to use an ice auger, electronic fish finding, how
to use ice fishing rod, tip ups, bait, heated houses, cameras, learn
techniques, proper fishing knots, rigging, mapping, lake Scouting, and
fish cooking techniques. Learning all these skills guarantees ice
fishing becomes a life-long hobby!
7th grade and above
Fees set in June
Sleep inside Saturday night. If participants would like, they can stay outside wtih the North Wind gear.
9 - 9:30 am Check in, assign bunks, winter weather training
9:30 am Learn use of equipment, (auger, fish houses, fish finders, cameras, etc...), Scout lake, Knots, and more.
