Canoes, Kayaks, Row Boats and more

Stay upbeat and buoyant at camp in our boats! We can also outfit your adventures. Canoes and canoe trailers are available to rent to use on a river trip, go to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, or to use at another nearby lake.

WHO CAN GO BOATING?

Everyone is welcome to go boating at camp. Rowboats can be used by those that have passed the "Beginners Swim Test" or "Swimmers Swim Test". Campers that have not passed the "Swimmer" or "Beginner" swim test can go rowing if they are accompanied by an adult that has passed the "Swimmer Swim Test".

For canoes, kayaks, sailboats, paddleboards campers need to have passed the ""Swimmers Swim Test" or be accompanied by a certified lifeguard. The lifeguard needs to be in the boat with the camper.

HOW MUCH TO GO BOATING?

Using our camp boats is cheap! It's $15 per canoe / row boat per day. This comes with all the safety equipment and paddles.

WHEN CAN WE GO BOATING?

Boating is best when the water is warm. It's very difficult when it is frozen. Boating is available at camp from April 1 through October 31.

HOW DO WE GO BOATING?

One leader needs have taken and be current in Safety Afloat training. This training is available online at My.Scouting.org or can be taken at our Boy Scout Summer Camps during the summer camp season. The training is only thirty minutes long and covers the steps to follow to ensure a safe float trip. When booking your weekend camp lodging, you can let us know how many boats you want.

CAN WE BRING OUR OWN BOATS TO USE AT CAMP?

Yes! You can bring your own boats including motor boats, but you must contact camp for prior approval. Trailered boats can be launched at nearby public boat launches. All Boy Scout and state rules must be followed when using any boats at or near camp.
